A writer wannabe…

When I was in high school, I already knew how much I love writing, back then, we cannot afford to buy a personal computer, so I would use our very old and basic typewriter in writing my short stories and poems.  It would have been great if I was able to keep them…

My Journalism teacher in high school even inspired me in pursuing my writing. He published two or three of my short stories in the school newspaper. And he helped me to write a love story that was published in the “Love Story” comics.  These instances triggered my interest to take Mass Communication in college, unfortunately things didn’t turn out as planned… But my passion for writing remained.

Now that blogging is the “in” thing in the internet world, I thought of putting up my own blog site, why not?

As I conquer more real life trials, as I meet more people, I’ve come to realize that I may have been missing out… what have I been doing for the past 30 years? Why did I stop writing?  So as a birthday gift for myself, I am allowing myself to do something that I know will give me a sense of fulfillment… something that I can call mine!

LOOK who’s here now? Look whose blog you’re reading right now. Yes, its me Cristina a.k.a. Momsie (this is no longer available so I had to use Momsiecle for my domain name).

Yup, I did not take any literature class and I may not be a Mass Communication or Journalism graduate, but it will not stop me from doing things that I always love doing.  I am happy with my career as an HR practitioner, but I am happier if my mind can speak and if my opinion will be known and that is something that my blog will allow me to do.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog.

Happy reading peeps!

Momsiecle

Momsiecle is short for Momsie's Circle. I started my first blog on a free blogging platform in 2006 as a just for fun blog. When my family and I moved to Winnipeg in 2009, I started to write about my challenges and discoveries about living in Canada as an immigrant. In 2012, I decided to make momsiecle.com a place to come for aspiring Canadian immigrants and for people who are embracing life in the “new world” that they are in.
