As we struggle with shopping lists and plans for gatherings and holiday dinners plus the cold weather, do not forget that it is also a good time to look back at the previous 11 months to be reminded of what made you smile, what made you cry, what you did and what you didn’t and most of all what worked and what didn’t… As we close this last chapter of the year, sort out what you should leave behind and what you’ll keep carrying with you. Use the next 31 days for closure and for preparation. Others may say that it’s the last month of the year, so the end is near, but really, it is the beginning. As we enter December, let’s start preparing to face the next year and reconstruct our plan for the coming year. Ready?

“People often think it’s weird to get hyped about reading one page or meditating for one minute or making one sales call. But the point is not to do one thing. The point is to master the habit of showing up. The truth is, a habit must be established before it can be improved. If you can’t learn the basic skill of showing up, then you have little hope of mastering the finer details. Instead of trying to engineer a perfect habit from the start, do the easy thing on a more consistent basis. You have to standardize before you can optimize.” That’s from James Clear’s book, Atomic Habits. 📖

Here’s my take, before you can be great at something, you need to establish first and mastering the art of showing up is your first step.

If you can’t write 10 pages, write 2 each day. If you cant work out for 60 minutes, work out 20 consistently. If you can’t read 30 minutes, read 15 everyday. Taking small bites will allow you to free yourself from the pressure of achieving your larger goal, while you start to meet your smaller goals you are encouraged to keep going and you won’t realize that you start to shift doing larger ones.

I was upset the past weeks of not being able to tick off everything in my 2022 goals, but, as I always say to my kids, if you are unable to “show up” today, make sure you show up the next day with a bang! We have 31 days left before 2022 ends, get out there and master the art of showing up to prepare for a stronger start of 2023. Let’s do this! 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

Proud Momsie Moment (PMM): My soon to be graphic designer who happens to be the one responsible for the great photos in most of my posts surprised me with a business card that he designed, printed and cut for me!

I was teary-eyed when he gave this to me and told me that he wants me to know how much he appreciates all the hard work that I’m doing for them.

He said he designed the card with the hope that when people get it, they will immediately know how great I am in all the things I do - a Financial Advisor, a Mortgage Professional, a Content Creator/Writer most of all a Mom 💕Hence he made it for the “superwoman” that I am for him (is it Mother’s Day?) My heart is so full! Knowing how much my piglets appreciate me is the best reward that I can get!

So, yeah, this is your #superwomanwannabe friend, financial advisor, mortgage advisor and blogger sharing her real “superwoman and supermom” moment. I must have done something right to raise such appreciative and loving kids 💕

BLACK FRIDAY THOUGHTS: Humans have constant need to grow and to want more. Most of us do, right?

For some, they try to satisfy their needs and wants by accumulating more STUFF… in the end, no matter how much you have and what you have, the needs are not met, it is unfortunate for some to still feel that something is still missing.

Black Friday is on, you surely are seeing all the deals stores are offering. Don’t simply fall into the trap. Think before you click or swipe.

Instead of getting more of those gadgets, clothes, purses, shoes, etc., think of gaining happiness, confidence, and security by ensuring financial stability through saving your money instead of spending them. Stop trying to keep up with the Jonases just to impress people of what you have.

BOGO, steals or great deals! Would you buy these items if they were not on sale? If not, are you saving money, or are you actually spending more?

Remember, the money you spend on these, although less with the discount, will still come from your bank account. When deciding to get something from the sale rack, think - do you need it? Better yet, ask yourself if you even thought of buying it before it go on sale?
